The Club was founded in 1993 with the amalgamation of Barnstaple CC and Pilton CC. Since then the Club has grown into one of the biggest in North Devon.
We consider ourselves to be a leading community cricket club, which is why we are designated as a Focus Club by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB). This means that we are at the hub of the community network for cricket development, particularly for the benefit of children and young people.
The Club’s aim is to foster and promote the sport of cricket at all levels within the community and within the sport, providing opportunities for recreation, coaching and competition.
The club currently has it's 1st XI in Division 'B' and it's 2nd XI side in Division 'C' of their respective competitions in the Francis Clark Devon League. We also have two teams playing in the North Devon League.
The Club’s runs a thriving and popular Junior section, with children from 7 years old up to the age of 15 receiving professional coaching from a dedicated team of ECB-qualified coaches. Our committment to the development of young players is recognised by our current ECB Clubmark accreditation. We are also proud to be actively involved in the Cricket Foundations "Chance to Shine" grassroots initiative which runs in a cluster of schools in the Barnstaple area.
The club moved to its new location in 2004 from the old Pottington Road Ground. The picturesque Raleigh Meadow Ground is situated in the Yeo Valley area of Barnstaple. The new facility includes a 12-pitch square, Non-Turf Pitch, three-lane practice nets, electronic scoreboard, large clubhouse with bar, player and officials changing rooms & disabled facilities and also ample car parking.
